Ask no questions and survive. Born in a planet without soul, surviving like cattle in service of faceless lords. Drowned in ignorance for centuries, distract and conquer is this planet’s way. We don’t know our history, our purpose. Divided, categorized, standardized and thrown in the meat grinder of forced labor. Slaves we are born, slaves we die on the Gulag we call home.

Escape From Planet Gulag

As I serve, I quickly learn. Inside me, lives another, with an urge for the perfect escapade. It tells me there’s something beyond the oppression of this desert planet, it is not natural to live this way. When all you know is suffering, the leap of faith becomes easy, the impossible becomes the only option. Steal their knowledge and use it to find the true meaning of who I am, with this body, limbs, blood and guts and something else. As I see the ships come and go in the sky, I draw my plans. I need the perfect vessel to take me to the moon and beyond, to find my true self away from this collective hell.

The Hollow Moon

The unknown must be terrifying. Like a moth attracted by the burning light, I tear my wings and fall into darkness. I couldn’t see beyond the veil of my own ignorance, I dreamt small and found no immediate redemption. From a distance, the moon is perfect, but it is as desert as everything I always knew. It is a hollow beauty, hiding something I could never conceive, the mysteries of an unknown ancient knowledge. I found no answers, only more questions. Fear is the mind killer, I must overcome it, for the planet Gulag have become small to the possibilities of an infinite universe. I must go on, explore this new path and never turn back.

Space-Time Singularity

The ancient way is a dead way. I can learn from it, as it can’t hurt me, but it can’t be my sole purpose. As I board the alien ship, I let myself go to wherever it takes me. Anything is better than the previous life of misery I had on the forced labor camp. The environment on this vessel is almost toxic, but sensations can be clarifying. My brain expands and retracts to the point I forget what I was and start to become who I am. An explorer falling in the slumber of knowledge, diving through the wormhole of unimagined possibilities.

I wake up with the most beautiful sight in front of me. Never seen a nebulae that close before, and I have no idea why the alien vessel brought me here. Maybe it wants to tell me something, maybe it is not as alien as I thought. Now that I have a glimpse of the extension of the universe, my previous world became so small and irrelevant. I have the strength of mind and I learned how to build it. I must continue the exploration, for now I see that’s the meaning of existence: to experiment, to learn and grow wiser. Let’s start by following my instincts, the pursuit of the end to understand the beginning, and it points me to those three aligned stars.
